Lockdown has certainly changed the way we do things! I previously had many regular 1 to 1 Pilates clients and a number of group classes per week. Once lockdown arrived I decided to focus my work primarily on the “Seniors” part of my teaching.
I was determined to make sure this potentially vulnerable group within our society remained part of a vibrant network and stayed connected whilst having fun and maintaining their emotional, physical and mental well being. So I now teach globally over Zoom primarily to “Senoirs” but also to individuals and couples.
Embracing larger classes, practicing in multiple time zones is great fun!
Something that was shared with me early in my career, was where possible to work to a schedule where I can make time for my clients. This lets them know I care. From this platform of caring I can build powerful rapport and really motivate and encourage. Which in my experience delivers much better results, which are maintained over longer periods.
Scissors. I like this exercise because it works on flexibility rhythm and strength.
I have worked in industry for 36 years.
I began my journey in “Jane Fonda Aerobic-Land” back in the glorious 80’s with the wonderful George Michael and the heady days of disco.
During the journey, I have experienced most methods and approaches.
Now arriving in the present dayI have deliberately distilled my chosen techniques down to the two most effective regimes I have encountered: Pilates and Barre Concept.
They both are what I call “Intelligent Exercise”.
Always do things to the best of your ability.
Hopefully we will be back to some sort of normal so I will be spending time face time face with the people I love and care about
